Reflecting on 2025: A Year of Transformation at Amplify Care
As 2025 comes to a close, we’re taking time to reflect on a year of meaningful change, growth, and collaboration. It has been a transformative year for Amplify Care and for primary care across Canada, and we are deeply grateful to the clinicians, patients, partners, and team members who have been part of this journey.
A New Chapter for Our Organization
One of the most significant milestones of 2025 was our rebrand from the eHealth Centre of Excellence to Amplify Care. This change reflects our evolution into a national, clinician-led organization focused on amplifying the voices, needs, and experiences of those who deliver care every day.
While our name and look have evolved, our purpose has not. Our mission remains clear: to reduce administrative burden, support high-quality care, and help clinicians spend more time with their patients.
Alongside our new name, we launched a redesigned website (the one you are visiting right now!) built with clinicians in mind, by prioritizing simplicity, accessibility, and easier access to the digital health tools and supports we offer.
Strengthening the Foundations of Primary Care
Throughout 2025, we continued to invest in the foundational tools that support efficient, coordinated primary care. Enhancements to eReferral, standardized referral forms, and EMR-integrated decision supports remained central to our work.
This year marked a major milestone for the health system: more than 4 million eReferrals have now been processed across Ontario through the Amplify eReferral Network. Each referral represents progress toward improved access, reduced delays, and safer, more reliable workflows and moving the system further away from outdated fax-based processes.
Our province-wide efforts to advance referral form standardization also continued, with extensive collaboration involving thousands of physicians, clinicians, and partner organizations. This ongoing co-design work remains key to reducing unnecessary administrative burden.
A Thoughtful Approach to AI in Healthcare
Artificial intelligence became an increasingly prominent part of healthcare conversations in 2025. At Amplify Care, we approached this rapidly evolving space with a strong emphasis on evidence, safety, and clinical practicality.
Key initiatives included national evaluations of AI scribes in primary care settings, examining their impact on documentation time, workflow integration, and clinician experience, as well as the launch of AI Amplified, our online resource hub offering practical guidance and curated insights on emerging AI tools.
We also began evaluating AI-enabled triage tools, focusing on real-world use and impact. Across all of this work, our guiding principle remained consistent: technology must support – not complicate – clinical care, and successful adoption depends on thoughtful implementation and change management.
Thank You for Being Part of the Journey
As we close out the year, we extend our sincere thanks to the clinicians, partners, and healthcare teams who place their trust in Amplify Care. Your insights and collaboration continue to shape our work and strengthen the primary care system.
2025 was a year of transformation. We’re proud of what we accomplished together, and grateful for the opportunity to support the vital work you do every day.
