About Dr. Daniel Garcia

Dr. Daniel Garcia is a Family Physician and Assistant Professor with NOSM University, with experience spanning rural and urban primary care, medical education, digital health, and health-system leadership. Originally from Toronto, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University, where he also pursued graduate research in Motor Control and Learning supported by NSERC. He earned his medical degree from University College Cork in Ireland and completed his Rural Family Medicine residency at the University of Saskatchewan, receiving the Alanna Danilkewich Resident Award for academic achievement. Dr. Garcia previously served as Lead Physician for the Near North Family Health Organization and currently serves as Physician Lead for the Primary Care Network within the Nipissing Wellness Ontario Health Team. He is also a member of the Executive Committee for the North Bay Physician Local Education Group and supervises medical students and Family Medicine residents through his community practice. His interests include transforming primary care delivery through team-based care models, physician wellness, and the integration of AI and digital health solutions into clinical workflows. He also serves as a clinical advisor for emerging healthcare AI initiatives, with a focus on practical and scalable innovation in frontline care.
