Dr. Upender Mehan is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and completed his family medicine residency at Queen’s University. He has been in practice for over 35 years and currently works at the Centre for Family Medicine Family Health Team and satellite site for McMaster University’s Family Medicine residency program. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor with McMaster University and Adjunct Clinical Professor at Western University, in their departments of family medicine. He is passionate about teaching and has won several teaching awards and an Award of Excellence from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He has a strong interest in Continuing Medical Education and his interests include Osteoporosis, Diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease, Obesity, and Mental Health disorders including Insomnia. He is a champion for the implementation of digital health tools to allow primary care to deliver evidence-based care with greater ease.
